SACRED LANDSCAPES OF A GROWING CITY

As Russian cities continue to expand, churches appear alongside apartment blocks, shopping centers, former game clubs, basements, and empty fields. This ldocumentary project explores how sacred architecture adapts to the rapidly changing urban landscape and how religion becomes part of everyday life in newly built neighborhoods. Combining photography with historical and field research, the project examines the relationship between urban development, memory, and the visual language of contemporary Russia.
